I would like to see API access to the SF public library's book availability. Specifically, I'd like to see an API for searching books, logging into your account, and requesting books.

Chad Salinas says: SFPL is a tremendous resource. Is the ability to search, hold, and checkout library books on the roadmap?

Has there been no updates regarding an API for SFPL? I would love to get access to my account via a mobile app to easily see what I have checked out and the due dates.

Or perhaps have it pull the dates and post them on my calendar.

Even without searching the catalog or just being to check account status and perhaps renew books would be a great help.

The Library has launched an application that enables Smartphone users to search the catalog, request items and access their holds and checkouts using the mobile My Account interface. http://www.sfpl.org/index.php?pg=2000308501
